Q: What's the difference between XLERATOR and XLERATOReco?
The XLERATOR uses up to 1,450W with heat and dries hands in ~8 seconds. The XLERATOReco runs at just 500W with no heat, taking ~10 seconds but using far less energy — ideal for LEED-focused buildings or anywhere quieter, greener operation is the priority.

Q: Do XLERATOR hand dryers qualify for LEED or WELL building credits?
Yes. All XLERATOR models can contribute to multiple LEED v4/v4.1 credits across Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Excel Dryer is also a member of the International WELL Building Institute.

Q: Is the XLERATOR ADA compliant?
The standard XL series can be made ADA compliant with the optional Recess Kit (projects less than 4" from the wall). The ThinAir® is designed ADA-compliant out of the box. 

Q: What electrical requirements do XLERATOR hand dryers need?
All models are multi-voltage: 110–120V or 208–277V at 50/60 Hz. A dedicated 20-amp circuit is recommended for 110V installs. The XLERATOReco at 500W has significantly lower electrical demands.

Q: How does the optional HEPA filtration work?
The eHEPA® electrostatic filter retrofits onto the air intake and removes 99.999% of viruses from the airstream per third-party lab testing. 

Q: How long does an XLERATOR last?
Excel Dryer backs the XLERATOR and XLERATOReco with a 7-year limited warranty, while the ThinAir model carries a 5-year limited warranty. Real-world failure rates are under 1%. The externally visible Service LED lets maintenance staff spot issues without opening the unit.
