Installation Guidance

The XL-BW is surface-mounted and designed for commercial restroom installation. Excel Dryer's suggested mounting heights, measured from the floor to the bottom of the dryer, are 45" (114 cm) for men's washrooms, 43" (109 cm) for women's washrooms, and 37" (94 cm) for accessible installations. A dedicated 20-amp circuit is recommended for 110-120V installs; the 208-277V configurations draw 5.6–6.2 amps / 1,135–1,450 watts. Allow appropriate clearance on either side and below the unit so the air stream and sensor work as designed.

For ADA-compliant installations where the dryer must project less than 4 inches from the wall, order the optional ADA-Compliant Recess Kit (#40502) — the standard XL-BW projects 6-11/16" (170mm) and is not ADA-compliant on its own. If you're retrofitting into a paper-towel cabinet location, the XChanger® retrofit kit (#40575 or #40550) drops the XLERATOR into a recessed cavity. Antimicrobial Wall Guards (#89B/W/S) are available for high-touch and high-traffic locations.
